Our Property
Our home was designed by local talent, Grant Gettens. He converted a 1977 “BC Box” into an elegant, comfortable, and spacious abode. We followed the guidance of architect Christopher Alexander, whose principal is to create opportunities for social connection in homes, commercial spaces, and communities. Our genius contractor, local Gary Jackson, ensured the dream became a reality.

There are six bedrooms; four with king-sized beds and two with queen-sized beds. There are four full bathrooms, two complete kitchens, and two laundry rooms. We also have 1000 square feet of covered decking so you and your guests can socialize outside in total comfort. The property has a warm, 15ft x 30ft pool, a canvas and vine-covered pergola, a hot tub, a yoga studio, and a gas fire pit area. You will make fun memories here!
Included In Your Stay
Both kitchens are stocked with complimentary coffee, assorted teas, sugar, spices, oils and vinegars. The bathrooms contain salon-brand shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We provide cotton bedding, plush towels, and pool and beach towels.
Spacious & Private
Originally from the Azores region in Portugal, the Borba Family arrived in Penticton and purchased the nicest 25 acres in Penticton. They planted grapes, fruit trees and ranched a few dozen sheep and cattle. The Borbas created Abella Farms and eventually, their parcel of land was subdivided. Our 1.3 acres remain in the Agriculture Land Reserve and we are replanting apple and cherry trees. Between 2021 and 2022, Benchview Estate was fully renovated and the dream to live in absolute beauty, like the Borbas, was achieved. Our home is spacious and private with only one lovely neighbor, who operates a successful fruit orchard.
Days By the Pool
The pool is steps from the walk out basement and situated 20 feet above the surrounding agriculture. The result is an “infinite” feel with unobstructed views of the amazing Okanagan landscape. We love Penticton summers by the pool and so will you and your guests!
We will attend each day to clean and maintain the pool and hot tub to ensure you enjoy crystal clear water.
Hosting an Event
If you envision hosting a private event such as a wedding reception or family reunion, where your guests are sipping fine wines, and savoring delicious tapas while listening to Latin lounge tunes as the sun sets behind the mountains, then Benchview Estate is ideal. There is room for 38 additional guests per day* and there are several award-winning caterers in Penticton. As your hosts, we are available to assist you with set up and clean up** and we can make recommendations. The City of Penticton appreciates a “no-noise for neighbors” policy between 11pm and 6am and this is ensures a restful night to be able to bike Three Blind Mice the next day!
