Family Fun
Family fun is what Penticton is all about, especially during the summer months filled with sunshine, warm sand and cool lake waters.

It’s a Family Affair

With adventures for every age and all the amenities of a world-class destination, Penticton has been a long-time choice for great family vacations.

LocoLanding Adventure Park and Hoodoo Adventure Company offer endless hours of fun, guaranteed to tire out even the most active kids.

Challenge your clan to a round of mini-golf, take a family pedal car bike for a spin, reach new heights ziplining at the Zip Zone Adventures, or take in the action at the Penticton Speedway for high speed family fun.

For an interactive learning experience, check out the hands-on displays and activities for the whole family at the Penticton Museum or check out the SS Sicamous sternwheeler, the largest surviving ship of its kind in Canada, featuring a museum and a model of the Kettle Valley Railway with working miniature trains!

Do your kids love animals?! Then they’ll have a fantastic time visiting the goats at GottaGoat Farm, open year-round!

For a change of pace, spend an afternoon floating lazily down the channel, or playing on the soft sandy beaches where shallow entry is perfect for little swimmers. Shade trees at the beach are a great respite for naps and picnics, and nearby family-friendly restaurants will ensure your leisure time goes off without a hitch.

If you’re looking for a kid-friendly event, Penticton is host to various family festivals and events each year, including the Penticton Peach Fest and the HaHaHa Kidzfest.

Exploring the Big Wide Outside

Nestled between two huge freshwater lakes and surrounded by acres of open space and miles of trails Penticton is the perfect place for a family outdoor adventure.

The scenic Kettle Valley Rail Trail along the east side of Okanagan Lake is a perfect place to explore with your intrepid travellers on foot or by bike.

For younger adventurers, Discovery Park at Skaha Lake is a wonderful natural playground, designed to encourage children to move and use their imagination.

In the winter, bundle up and enjoy the outdoors when you bring the family up to Apex Mountain Resort, for downhill skiing, tubing, or a skate through the forest, or just a bit further up from Apex, check out Nickel Plate Nordic Centre, with cross country ski and snowshoe trails and rentals for the whole family, including dog friendly snowshoe trails! Just over an hour south of Penticton, you’ll find another family-friendly ski hill at Baldy Mountain Resort, offering sledding, marshmallow roasting, ski racing and snowshoeing.

All the Comforts of Home

Part of a relaxing family vacation means having access to the amenities you need. Equipped with kitchenettes, BBQ pits and recreation areas, and outdoor pools, many of the local motels are a perfect home base.

Your family trip to Penticton is sure to provide memories for a lifetime.
