Make it, Bake it, Grow it

The iconic Penticton Farmers’ Market has been operating in downtown Penticton since 1991. The first market was located in Gyro Park with a few vendors who had the vision of a true “make it, bake it, grow it” farmers’ market.

Today, the market is held every Saturday on the 100 Block of Main Street in downtown Penticton, from mid April until the end of October. Traditionally the society also hosts indoor Spring and Winter Markets and we have been fortunate in recent years to have secured space in Cherry Lane Mall.

The outdoor market has the capacity for 90+ vendor stalls and welcomes an average 10,000 visitors per day. Many are locals, but we also attract visitors from across British Columbia, Canada, and other countries.

Many of our vendors are farmers from the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valley offering fresh produce, meat, eggs and honey. We also have local food and drink producers, food trucks, craftspeople and artists, plus local wineries, cideries, distillers and breweries sampling their products. And don’t forget our amazing local bakers, offering fresh bread and yummy treats.

The Penticton Farmers’ Market is proud to be a member of the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets. We participate in the Farmers’ Market Nutritional Coupon Program and work collaboratively with the City of Penticton to continue to support local “make it, bake it, grow it” farmers and craftspeople, and the broader business community.
