Peggie Collins is a (mostly) self-taught artist blessed with amazing influences to guide her. Her artistic grandmother and nurturing mother were two of those key influences. Peggie showed her creativity from very early in her childhood and remembers offbeat but significant events such as loving the collection of colours that collected from sharpening her pencil crayons, or organizing her play blocks according to colour.
After the early death of her mother, Peggie’s journey of loss and recovery included a desire to honour her mother’s early encouragement and belief in her artistic gifts and as a result Peggie emersed herself in painting with instruction from a talented Okanagan artist. Peggie forged ahead from there and has not looked back.
Since Peggie retired from her job in 2020, she has worked diligently at developing her artistic skills and also creating her own business selling her art, at Gallery One Twenty- Seven, based in Penticton, BC. In her gallery you will find Okanagan and beyond… originals, prints, posters, postcards, magnets and stickers and even bookmarks. She also carries handcrafted jewelry and metal work from local talented artists.
Peggie feels fortunate to be able to combine her passion for painting and travel and is continually inspired by all the experiences along the way. She is grateful to call the Okanagan her home with inspiration right here in her back yard.
