A powerful presence on the Vancouver music scene for more than 35 years.
In 1978 Russell co-founded Vancouver’s“Rhythm & Blues All Stars.”
The Allstars played it’s first gig opening for the Legendary Long John Baldry.
Performed with 100‘s of Artists, and has shared the stage with The Allman Brothers,
BB King, Chuck Berry, James Brown, War, Ray Charles, and Steppenwolf just to
name a few!
Russell headlined four years at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival,
Raven Blackwell, then known as Suzanne Gitzi
exploded on the Country Music scene in October of 1993 with the release of her
critically acclaimed debut record, Fallen Angel .
Fallen Angel yielded 5 top 40 hits, including the #1 single
The Runaround. “Fallen Angel” was voted one of the top 12 albums of 1993 by
Canadian Country Music News. With the success of her debut album.
Suzanne joined the ranks of Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks known as ” New Country”.
Suzanne’s powerful voice coupled with her dynamic live show made audiences and
critics turn up their radios from coast to coast.
Suzanne’s second release, “Dressed in Black”, has so far yielded 3 singles. The
first single a guitar heavy tune called “Judge and Jury” claimed the #1 spot in
Dauphin Manitoba which coincided with the Dauphin Music Festival, where
Suzanne shared the stage with Vince Gill.
With 4 Albums to her credit, and a new release on the way…
