An original documentary produced by Penticton’s Tempest Theatre and Film Society chronicles the achievements and ground-breaking knowledge of the late visionary Penticton-based physician Dr. Jeff Harries, as he both champions new medical approaches to treating alcohol use disorder and fights his own battle with ALS.

Followed by a talkback with professionals in the fields of addictions and healthcare, this evening will be both engaging and filled with hope. Post-show panelists will include Dr. Leona Harries (Local Family Doctor),
Bruce Harries (Board Chair of the Canadian Alcohol Use Disorder Society), Kim Conroy (Former Manager of Foundry Penticton), and Clinical Councillor Steve King BSC, R.C.C.

Film Summary:
The small town of Penticton is the catalyst for change in treating Alcohol Use Disorder. ​AUD is a disease which has long been judged as a result of weak character and bad judgement and treatment for some has been thought of as hopeless.

Dr. Jeff Harries has been treating this debilitating condition successfully for over 15 years using medications that are effective, extensively-researched and yet not widely known. ​After a devastating diagnosis of ALS, Jeff and his team must forge a plan to continue his work.
