The Dream Café, the renowned live music venue in Penticton cherished by artists and music lovers alike, has announced the launch of the “Live the Dream” Fundraising Auction. Building on the success of last year’s Fundraising Auction where the Dream raised over $30,000 to support it’s live music programming, this year’s event aims to grow that support.

“There are not many rooms left like this. Superb sound, dedicated & beautiful staff with a whole lot of soul. Folks, please go support this fabulous venue bringing quality shows to South B.C. It is truly a treasure. Viva La Dream!!” says award-winning musicians Blue Moon Marquee.

“In a time when we are seeing many live music venues across the country close their doors, it’s fundraisers like this that are so essential to keeping the music playing,” explains Board President of the Dream Café Coop, Lori Keith. “Costs are way up for the venue, but also for touring musicians, making rooms like the Dream Café, where the artists get food and lodging as well as a guarantee, so important for the health of the live music ecosystem,” says Keith.

The online auction has already started, allowing patrons to place bids on an array of remarkable items generously donated by supporters. The auction will culminate in a live event on Saturday, November 23, with doors opening at 6pm at the Dream Café. Tickets for the live event are priced at $50 and include live music by Ari Neufeld, a selection of delectable eats by Flambé Catering, as well as complimentary beverages from local wineries and breweries.

Auction attendees will have the opportunity to bid on an exciting array of items, including a 150,000 Aeroplan Points, a Vees Hockey Night in a Luxury Suite, an incredible gourmet dinner for six in a breathtaking Naramata setting, stunning artwork and more. The Dream Café welcomes additional donations of fundraising items up until the night of the live auction and encourages supporters to keep checking online as new items are added.
