The third Dream Blues Camp will happen this fall, Oct 2 – 4th here in Penticton. This blues music teaching event is sponsored by the Dream Café, our gem of a music venue here in Penticton. The camp brings together award winning artists to provide pro tips on song writing, improving your vocals, several blues guitar stylings, bass guitar, or blues chops on the harmonica. Classes are held each day with instructors giving lessons on topics like the work of Big Bill Broonzy, or T-Bone Walker, finger stye Travis picking, blues bass guitar, how to get the most out of your vocals or bending those harmonica notes. These instructors are well known to patrons of the Dream Café. Several are Maple Blues Award winners. The Penticton Music Academy’s – Kirby Barber is the bass guitar instructor , returning for the second time. Local songstress Yanti is our vocal coach again for this year.

There will be three days of learning with lots of time for jamming with other students. Each day instructors will give a lesson to small groups of students working on stylings while revealing tricks of the trade. All meals are provided as part of your registration. After dinner on Monday and Tuesday evening the instructors will put on a rocking performance on the Dream Café stage. After lunch on Wednesday, students will be invited to perform with their classmates, or individually, on the Dream Café stage before the camp breaks up late afternoon. Talk about great bragging rights with your friends! Students are welcome to bring guests to the meals and shows (tickets required).
