The City of Penticton has officially proclaimed October 16-24 as Penticton Beer Week 2020. Penticton’s seven craft breweries are working together to showcase Penticton’s exciting and dynamic craft beer scene. Earlier this year, travel giant Lonely Planet named Penticton as Canada’s Craft Beer Capital, which is incredible recognition for our town. We launched Penticton Beer Week as a way to celebrate craft beer.
In addition, all seven Penticton breweries came together to make a special collaboration beer called The Penticton Seven. This limited release beer is a hazy pale ale. It will be available on tap at each of the breweries as well as select local restaurants in Penticton and surrounding area during Penticton Beer Week. It will also be available in 4-packs of 473ml cans at private liquor stores in Penticton and throughout BC during the month of October.
This limited release collaboration beer is a fundraiser beer, where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local non-profit/charity. Each year, the beneficiary will change. For 2020, the recipient is the BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF). The BCHF is a registered charity that raises funds to support those in the hospitality industry facing financial crisis due to a health condition. The BCHF will allocate these proceeds to Okanagan based recipients.
