FAMILY DAY ADVENTURES IN PENTICTON
Get the family outside for some fresh air! Bring your gear, bundle up and get up to Nickel Plate Nordic Centre for some family snowshoeing or cross country skiing, or visit Apex Mountain Resort for downhill skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and skating. Stop into the Penticton Visitor Centre before heading up to Apex and pick up our exclusive discounted Apex Adult Lift Tickets, and take advantage of addition savings including 20% off 1 Junior OR 1 Teen Day Pass, plus 25% off ski and snowboard rentals.
For a bit of a different pace, bring the family to GottaGoat Farm, located just outside of Penticton, to play with goats! You’ll also have a chance to meet their chickens, horses, cats, and farm dog.
When the snow is flying or the wind is a bit chilly to be outside, the Penticton Museum & Archives is a perfect indoor family day activity. Immerse yourself in the history and culture of Penticton and the South Okanagan through fascinating exhibits and interactive learning spaces, with tons of hands-on displays and activities for the whole family. Browse through the links on their website to learn about the museum, and view the current and upcoming exhibits.
Another great spot to warm up and spend an afternoon is at Hoodoo Adventures‘ Climbing Wall. Purchase a Family Pass, valid for 2 to 5 people with rentals included, for only $50 and spend the afternoon experiencing bouldering and challenging the MoonBoard.
FAMILY DINING IN PENTICTON
Having different dining options is important when you’re travelling with family and luckily Penticton has plenty of food possibilities.
Start the morning off right a delicious breakfast from Bear’s Den Restaurant, open daily from 7am-2pm, Wayne and Freda, open daily from 8am-4pm.
A few lunch choices include Gratify Foods, offering wraps, soups, dips and chips, all made in house as well as a selection of delicious and healthy treats, Sushi Genki, with creative sushi rolls and delicious ramen that’s packed full of flavour, or The Station Public House, featuring fresh flavours including locally-sourced ingredients, fresh soup made in-house daily, delicious pizza from their forno oven, and house-made sauces and gravies.
For dinner, try Tratto Pizzeria, a Neapolitan pizzeria offering classic, contemporary and sacrilegious pizza pies using everything the Okanagan has to offer, Elma, which offers a Turkish inspired dining experience located on Okanagan Lake, or one of the local breweries, offering a fantastic selection of locally crafted beers and a variety of menus, sure to please event the pickiest eaters.
