We are very excited to welcome the IRONMAN Canada Triathlon back to Penticton, BC, on August 25, 2024.

In 1983, the first North American IRONMAN was born, and that race changed the IRONMAN triathlon community forever. Penticton, British Columbia is known as one of the world’s premier triathlon host communities, and a bucket list destination for IRONMAN athletes all over the world. ​Athletes from all over the world come to Penticton to race this iconic event, but stay for the welcoming, premier triathlon community.  Athletes will start their IRONMAN Canada journey with a 3.8KM single-loop, award-winning swim, transition to a 180KM bike through the Okanagan Valley lined with vineyards and picturesque mountain views. The last leg of your race will be a spirited and energetic 42.2KM run through the heart of Penticton, all culminating in an unrivaled, spectator-lined finish line. ​

New this year to Penticton is the IRONMAN Canada 70.3 “half-ironman” event, also on August 25th, 2024. Athletes will have an extraordinary racing experience and take on portions of the historic IRONMAN Canada triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series course. The race begins with a 1.9-km (1.2-mile) swim in beautiful Okanagan Lake. Once out of the water, athletes take off on a 91.5-km (56.9-mile) bike course through the Okanagan Valley riding through local wineries and scenic mountain views before descending back into Penticton.  Athletes will cap off their race with a 21.1-km (13.1-mile) scenic run course along the rolling Kettle Valley Trail and Main Street. The race culminates with an unforgettable finish line experience on Lakeshore Drive in downtown Penticton. 

The iconic course, stunning landscapes, and the welcoming host community of Penticton, British Columbia are all back as this legendary race makes its triumphant return home.

The event is expected to bring roughly 10,000 people, so be sure to book your accommodation in advance.
