Pet Portraits with Mary Kate Woodward at Penticton Arts Council

In this intermediate class designed for people with some drawing experience, students will build on techniques and create a finished pet portrait. Using 3 media and 2 surfaces, students will practice techniques describing the gestures, surface textures such as fur, and the personalities of their pets while developing their own style. Each student will supply media and surfaces listed below, or those of choice.
About the instructor:
Mary Kate is an artist, author, art instructor and landscaper. Her work has been displayed in various solo and group exhibitions, juried shows, artist collectives and art rental shops including Catherine White’s Castlegar shop “Yes Please.” She has taught at universities, colleges, night schools, arts councils and community centers as well as private lessons.
Fee: $50 (supplies not included)

Location: PDCAC Community Room at the Leir House Cultural Centre (220 Manor Park Avenue)
* Max 10 participants. Proof of double vaccination and masking required.
