How it all started . . .
Mark and Tanya’s path together has been full of passion, dedication, and a love for wine!
From their early fascination with the Okanagan wine region to their life-changing year in the south of France, every step seems to have built toward the creation of MODESTA.
The couple had a vision focused on not just great wine, but also creating a space that elevates the entire experience of enjoying it. A place for relaxed conversation and enjoying wine with friends or family.
Their journey from planting the first vines with their family on Father’s Day 2019 to the highly anticipated launch of the winery in Spring 2025 shows the long-term vision and hard work involved in making their dream a reality.
Simplicity is Golden
Our vineyard covers a modest area of sloped and terraced terroir, allowing for meticulous attention to detail, from hand-picking the grapes to small-batch fermentation.
We are passionate about sustainable practices, utilizing organic farming methods and minimal intervention in the cellar to highlight the true essence of the grapes – producing quality wines with personality.
The name MODESTA conveys a sense of humility and modesty.
Simple at first glance, our logo features two foundational blocks, hand-sketched by Mark. These blocks symbolize structure and function, grounded in humility. Yet, when artfully reimagined, this basic foundation becomes something more – soulfully elevated.
Just like the name MODESTA, which combines quiet strength with elegance, the logo transforms a humble material into a work of purposeful art.
