The Legend Has Returned

In 1983, the first North American IRONMAN was born, and that race changed the IRONMAN triathlon community forever. Penticton, British Columbia is known as one of the world’s premier triathlon host communities, and a bucket list destination for Subaru IRONMAN athletes all over the world. The iconic course, stunning landscapes, and the welcoming host community of Penticton, British Columbia are all back as this legendary race makes its triumphant return home.

Nestled in the breathtaking Okanagan Valley, Penticton is ecstatic to welcome back IRONMAN CANADA on August 28th, 2022.

The Race 

Beginning with a cool, single loop, 3.8km swim in beautiful Okanagan Lake, athletes soon become acquainted with the stunning natural landscape surrounding Penticton.

The ensuing 180 km rolling bike course continues to deliver incredible scenic views on the climbs up Richter Pass and Yellow Lake. 

Finally the 42 km run course features vineyards, orchards, and scenic Kettle Valley Rail (KVR) Trail before starting a two-loop section in town where athletes will enjoy spectator lined streets before finishing at the historic finish line on Lakeshore Drive.

After the race, celebrate with a drink from one of the countless local wineries or breweries.
