“Truly gorgeous Canadiana” ̶ Penguin Eggs
“Superb vocal harmonies” ̶ L.A. Beat
“A mahogany rich voice” ̶ Vancouver Province
Following several years of successful touring in Canada and the United States, Willy Blizzard has come home to BC to release their latest album.
Join them for a special evening of storytelling and original music as they deliver their signature indie-roots sound. Drawing on the classic themes of Canada, their songwriting reflects the echo of a canoe, a fish boat, even laundry flapping in the wind. Their music carries the stamp of our land. Get ready for some thoughtful songwriting delivered with the acoustic warmth of stand-up bass, together with electric twang to raise a little dust. The trio is fronted by the warm vocals of John Hough (“the smoothest baritone West of the Rockies”) backed up by superb three part harmonies.
Willy Blizzardʼs newest album, Armadillo Road, reflects the rich southern influences of Americana encountered by a band on tour in a huge continent. Diverse in theme and place in the way songwriters tend to wander, it features celebrated guest musicians Jeffrey Hatcher (Blue Shadows w/Billy Cowsill), Lester Quitzau (Tricontinental) and Adam Dobres (Wailinʼ Jennyʼs). Proud to be included on the compilation album “Celebrating the Best in BC
Music”, Willy Blizzard guarantees a fun and rewarding live concert experience.
