Kindred Spirits: Humans and the Natural World
Lecture by Don Gayton, M.Sc., P.Ag.
Wednesday, January 29, 2020 | 2:00-3:00pm
Admission by donation
Our relationship to nature has shifted dramatically over the centuries, and it continues to evolve. In an illustrated talk, Summerland ecologist and writer Don Gayton explores the history of that relationship, drawing on the writings of prominent thinkers and painters. He then takes us forward to our ambiguous present and future, where we are beginning to recognize our profound human assaults on the body of nature.
Don is a longtime student of the ecology of our beloved valley. He has written six books of non-fiction.
Tea and treats provided by The Bench Market.
