This all-day online session will provide an introduction to writing your life story, two pages at a time. Using a method called Guided Autobiography, participants will be guided through exercises designed to stimulate memory and encourage creativity. Participants will be given some basics about writing, a theme to write on, and priming questions to get memories flowing.
At the end of the workshop, participants will have learned some tricks to prime memories and have a new completed written theme for an autobiography. The day-long class will kick start the writing process so participants can continue on their own, or the class can serve as preparation to attend a more advanced six-week Guided Autobiography session.
Note: Participants are asked to bring an object for show and tell: a photo, a special piece of jewelry, a medal or award-anything that holds a good memory. Participant should be prepared to talk about this special object in a few sentences.
