Under the Rocks is a Kelowna-based bluegrass group that never leaves you disinterested or bored at a performance. By infusing traditional toe-tapping melodies with contemporary pop-standards, Under the Rocks has built a sound that blends the decades with an upbeat energy. Performing original tracks alongside covers ranging from folk and bluegrass-standards to 80’s radio rock, the group has found the formula of enough familiarity and surprise factor to keep audiences guessing.
Their mutual love for old time folk and bluegrass music is well conveyed through the songs they write and perform while still giving their own modern flavor to the music they play. Jordan Klassen (Guitar), Chris Baxter (Banjo) and James Prescott (Bass) formed as a 3 piece in 2016 and was joined later that year by fiddle player Chloe Davidson. UTR is more than just a band, they are great friends who thoroughly enjoy writing, performing, and spending time with each other. “We are more than thrilled to welcome the newest member of UTR, long time friend and established musician Drew Schulz.” The Band is currently on the tail end of finishing their first full length “Live off the floor” album, and will release it this Winter!
