Penticton Canada Day Celebrations

Canada Day is always a fabulous affair in Downtown Penticton!

Gyro Park will be full of amazing live music, family-fun activities and, of course, fireworks at dusk (approximately 10:00pm). Your favourite (and new!) market vendors will line the 100 block as well as Gyro Park all day from 10:00am – 6:00pm. Come down with a blanket or chair, enjoy the entertainment, shop the vendors and grab a bite to eat as we celebrate Canada’s birthday in grand Penticton style.

Pancake Breakfast

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
8:00am – 11:00am

Stop by bright and early for a delicious pancake breakfast by donation put on by OSNS (Okanagan Similkameen Neurological Society) Child and Development Centre.  All funds raised go directly to their efforts of providing education and early intervention treatment to children facing developmental challenges, plus assisting, guiding and supporting the families of these children.

GET BENT YOGA AND DANCE STUDIO PERFORMANCES – 10:00am – Belly Dance Demonstration

Belly dance embodies many beautiful elements: grace, power, elegance, confidence, and strength. Come and enjoy this visually spectacular form of dance and the enchanting costumes that elevate the experience for the audience.

ANTHEM, SPEECHES & CAKE – 12:00pm – Official Canada Day Kick-off

Join us in Gyro Park for the official Canada Day opening ceremony: National and Okanagan anthems, speeches from local dignitaries, and traditional Canada Day cake cutting.


PENTICTON CONCERT BAND – 12:30pm – Classical, big band, swing and jazz

Music is unlike any creative expression on Earth. It’s a spellbinding art that motivates the emotions of sound. The Penticton Concert Band performs several concerts throughout the South Okanagan area. The band  plays a variety of musical styles, including traditional concert band music, classical , musicals, dixieland, music of the big band era, swing and jazz.


MAMAJAMAS – 2:30pm – Rhythm & Blues, Funk and More

Hailing from the sunny Okanagan Valley, the Mamajamas deliver a variety of R&B, funk, rock and blues that will have you tapping and clapping along to the beat.


GORD MCLAREN – 3:45pm – Contemporary music and favourite classics

Penticton singer, songwriter Gord McLaren brings over 35 years of experience to the stage. Known for his gifted songwriting and selection of cover tunes ranging from artists such as James Taylor, The Beatles and Paul Simon to more contemporary acts like Jack Johnson, David Grey and so on. Gord is an accomplished acoustic guitar player with great rhythm to engage audiences of all sizes.


JACK & JILL – 5:00pm – Blondie, Guns & Roses, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana

Jack and Jill is made up of a wide array of artistic suspects committed to keeping the tradition of “Rock and Roll” alive. In an era of auto-tune and backing tracks, this band upholds the values of live music. They play a variety of song favorites ranging from Janis Joplin and No Doubt to Miranda Lambert and Queen.

Jack and Jill have been known to bring down the house at various private parties, events, festivals and of course the local pub and bar scene. They play a variety of song favorites ranging from Janis Joplin and No Doubt to Miranda Lambert and Queen.

Canada Day Fireworks

CANADA DAY FIREWORKS – 10:00pm – Okanagan Lake

The tradition of fireworks will continue in the City of Penticton this Canada Day. The show will take place over the south end of Okanagan Lake. Bring a blanket or chair and watch the spectacular show!
