The Penticton Museum & Archives holds a large and varied collection of artifacts. The museum collection includes Indigenous culture, early settlement, a taxidermy collection that is one of the best in British Columbia, and a significant railroad collection. The archives contains over 20,000 historical photographs and an extensive array of documents chronicling the life of the city from its earliest days. The permanent gallery includes a Hands-on Heritage Lab, an interactive space where visitors can engage in a number of hands-on activities that promote understanding of science and natural history.
The Penticton & District Community Arts Council is celebrating the Leir House Cultural Centre with activities throughout the day. The public is welcome to picnic and plein air paint on the grounds.
