Supplies needed are:

  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • Pencil/water soluble pen
  • Embroidery hoop (is helpful but not necessary if a thicker fabric is used)

Materials needed are:

  • Fabric; Medium weight cotton approximately 14x16cm. Many types of fabric can be used denim, felt or a piece of clothing or housewares. A lighter colour fabric is easier to transfer the pattern onto. A stiff fabric is easier to sew on especially if you don’t have an embroidery hoop.
  • Thread; Six Strand embroidery cotton. Red, orange, yellow, green, black and white or choose your own colours.

Alice has completed the Design for Embroidery course from the Embroidery Association of Canada.
Alice offers this free download fun for the family as part of the Penticton Arts Council’s Arts Matter Online program.
