Local author Carolae Donoghue reads a short story titled Clary & The Old Man for families at home!

The video will be available to view on our website starting Saturday June 13 at 1:00 PM: https://www.pentictonartscouncil.com/events/claryandtheoldman

Carolae Donoghue has always loved writing, and in the past few years, had three short stories published. She completed her first full-length novel, inspired by actual events, and awaits a publisher. In 2019, she placed in the top seven in the Federation of BC Writers Flash Fiction competition.

The Okanagan Historical Society will publish her fifteen-hundred-word essay on the fight to save Skaha Park from commercialization in their annual publication, September 2020.

She wrote Clary & The Old Man after watching an elderly gentleman walk the promenade of Waikiki, carrying his fold-up chair. He went to the same spot every day, alone with his thoughts. Carolae wanted him to have someone to talk to, so Clary was born.

Carolae offers this free short story video as part of the Penticton Arts Council’s Arts Matter Online program.
