Take a journey as we tour the Okanagan River Watershed, a transboundary waterway that straddles the Canada and U.S. border. Breathtaking film footage provides a spectacular look at the river and the lake. We visit the sites and meet the people in this place we call home. “A River Film” is a documentary about how people have, over many years, constructed a relationship with the river to support their needs and aspirations. There are many users who share the resource, but often have vastly different priorities. This story looks at the complex relationships between people, fish, upland species, and the wider Columbia Basin – a watershed regulated by the International Joint Commission, a bi-national organization established to protect the interests of all. Ascent Films Inc. is an award-winning Canadian Documentary film production company located in Kelowna, B.C. This program is FREE.
